On the Block: The mystery of Crescent Heights
Where does the money come from, and why does nothing get built? Based in faraway Miami, Crescent Heights has made three big land deals in our city, then commissioned some bold, eye-catching designs. The first splash came in the Denny Triangle, in 2014, followed by two more downtown.
Yet not a single spade of earth has been turned, and Crescent Heights sold its Denny Triangle site four years ago, with permits, to a Vancouver, B.C. developer. It's still dormant.
