On the Block: We need to talk about Wilburton

Plans by the city of Bellevue to upzone the Wilburton area, that formerly bleak, noisy stretch east of Interstate 405 — aka Auto Row — go back a half dozen years or more. During that time, of course, the glamorous downtown area west of 405, served by two coming light rail stations, has been substantially upzoned. New high rises abound, with condos, apartments and offices seemingly sprouting on every super-block.

With improved connections across the freeway, Wilburton is getting closer to West Bellevue.
