Northwest Housing Association

Clark

Northwest Housing Association, which represents the Washington state manufactured housing industry, hired Lance Clark as executive director. Clark brings two decades of association management and building industry experience to the position left open by the recent retirement of longtime executive director Joan Brown. Clark has served in executive roles for several building and real estate associations, as well as operating his own association management consulting firm. He is a graduate of the University of Montana, holds an American Society of Association Executives Certified Association Executive designation, and is an active member of both ASAE and the Washington Society of Association Executives. The Northwest Housing Association is a nonprofit trade organization dedicated to increasing the availability of unsubsidized affordable housing and to educating Washington homebuyers about modern manufactured housing.

Russell Investments

Seattle-based Russell Investments hired Samantha Foster as managing director of nonprofit OCIO solutions. Foster joined the firm from the University of Southern California endowment, where she spent 10 years as managing director in the Investment Office. Having overseen $2 billion in assets for one of the top endowments in the U.S., Foster has deep expertise into the unique needs of nonprofits, including investing across asset classes, risk, asset allocation and operations management. Foster also oversaw the pension plan and charitable trust investments. Prior to joining USC, Foster was an associate director at Pacific Alternative Asset Management, where she served as chair of the risk management committee and invested across hedge fund strategies. She earned her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and bachelor's from the California Institute of Technology. Russell Investments serves institutional investors, financial intermediaries and individual investors through its offices in 19 cities around the world.

Emerald Downs

Puyallup native Scott McLean is the new executive chef at Emerald Downs. McLean brings over three decades of experience to Emerald Downs and is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He will be responsible for developing a menu and all activities that occur in the kitchen/dining operation at Emerald Downs. He most recently was culinary professor and leader of the Culinary Arts Program at South Puget Sound Community College. He also had a 10-year stint with Ram International as regional chef overseeing operations in nine of the company's restaurants, and was executive chef at Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center in Walla Walla.

Banner Bank

Banner Bank again ranked highest in the Northwest region for customer satisfaction, according to the recently released J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study. This is the sixth time in the past decade that Banner has earned this recognition. J.D. Power ranks banks in each of 15 regions across the U.S. This year, the study measured seven factors: level of trust; people; banking how and when I want; account offerings meet needs; helping save time or money; digital channels; and resolving problems. Banner is a Washington-chartered commercial bank serving consumer and business clients in Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho.

England

Seattle-based Trace Register, a provider of full-chain traceability to the global seafood industry, named Heath England as its new president. England is a seafood industry veteran with a depth of knowledge in operations, logistics and distribution. He previously was COO of The Fishin' Company, a major Walmart supplier. Trace Register's TR5 platform helps supply chain members build digital supply networks.

Shelf Engine

Kim

In Seattle, Shelf Engine named retail technology executive Sophi Kim as head of product management, a newly created position. Kim comes from Amazon, where she held a variety of lead product roles over the past 4½ years, including retail supply chain optimization, information system design, and Just Walk Out store launches. She also led the development and launch of a unified data pipeline between Amazon and Whole Foods Market that powers core retail use cases, including the perishables supply chain. Shelf Engine provides artificial intelligence in an effort to reduce food waste.

Docklight Brands

Seattle-based Docklight Brands said it planned to open a Marley Natural cannabis store this week in Toronto under a retail development agreement with Fresh Vibe Ventures. The company also has secured several other retail sites, and plans to have 35 stores open by 2030 across Canada. Each store will be independently owned and operated. Docklight's brands include Marley Natural and Marley CBD. Fresh Vibe Ventures has decades of experience building retail and restaurant brands in Canada.

Dorsey

Mukilteo-based Vimly Benefit Solutions, a provider of cloud-based benefits administration technology, appointed Keith Dorsey to its board of directors. Dorsey has over 25 years of sales leadership experience in the human capital management and benefits technology industry. Currently the president and executive advisor of Dorsey Management Consulting, he has also served as executive vice president, global head of sales for Alight Solutions and Aon Hewitt, both providers of human capital solutions. Vimly is a certified women-owned business that was founded in 1993.

Compass Health

Summers

Compass Health hired Connie Summers as its first-ever chief human resources and diversity officer (CHRDO). As CHRDO, Summers oversees all aspects of human resource management and is key to fostering a culture that supports diversity and inclusion. Creating the CHRDO position is part of Compass Health's diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategy. Summers joins Compass Health after serving as director of human services for Seattle Counseling Service and spending almost 25 years with Boeing, finishing as a senior leader in global diversity, equity and inclusion. Compass Health is a community-based health care agency that offers mental health treatment, crisis prevention and intervention, supportive housing, children's services and community education. The nonprofit serves people of all ages throughout Snohomish, Skagit, Island, San Juan and Whatcom counties.

Novo Integrated Sciences

Bellevue-based Novo Integrated Sciences completed the acquisition of Clinical Consultants International, a global consulting firm based in Boca Raton, Florida, providing value-added services for the pharmaceutical, biotech, health care management, hospital management, medical marketing and strategic planning, health policy, and medical device sectors. The deal was an all-stock transaction. As part of the acquisition, Joseph Chalil was appointed chief medical officer and president of Novomerica Health Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company formed for expansion of certain medically related businesses in the U.S. In addition, Chalil will maintain his leadership of CCI. Founded in 2006, CCI has an international team of physicians, diplomats, hospital administrators and regulatory/FDA experts. Novo offers a holistic approach to patient-first health and wellness through a multidisciplinary health care ecosystem.

Trident Seafoods

In celebration of Earth Month, April 5-May 2, Nordstrom chefs have worked with family-owned Trident Seafoods and the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers to showcase the versatility and taste of wild Alaska pollock at a time when consumers are looking for more sustainable food sources. Nordstrom restaurants are featuring two wild Alaska pollock dishes at stores across the country — blackened wild pollock with Cajun risotto and blackened wild pollock taco salad. Wild Alaska pollock, a flaky white fish sustainably caught in Alaskan waters, has long been used as an ingredient in fish sandwiches and fish sticks at restaurants, and is widely available in the frozen section at retailers. Sustainable harvest practices and transparency from the source to the plate allow the fish to be certified sustainable by the Responsible Fisheries Management and Marine Stewardship Council programs. Wild Alaska pollock is also one of the most abundant fish species harvested in Alaska waters. Additionally, Trident is unveiling two new wild Alaska fish oil brands, Pure Catch and Alaska Naturals, one designed for consumers looking for products to help maintain their lifestyles and another formulated for canines.
