“The Build Washington Awards provide an excellent opportunity for members of our construction community to come together and reflect on recent projects that demonstrate superior excellence for innovation, safety and related challenging aspects, and to recognize the contractors driving that excellence,” said 2023 AGC of Washington President Glyn Slattery. “Our local communities are significantly improved as a result of the extraordinary efforts of the individuals and firms of our award winners and we should all be proud of their contributions to our state.”

Construction Excellence judges included Anne Timmermans, Paramatrix; Joe Gildner, Sound Transit; John Schaufelberger, University of Washington; Eric Pearson, DCI Engineers; and Derek Case, WSDOT.

Safety Excellence judges included Travis Stone, AGC Oregon Columbia Chapter; Doug Buman, LIUNA Health & Safety Fund of North America; Kevin Cannon, AGC; Craig Blackwood, Labor & Industries; and Carl Heinlein, American Contractors Insurance Group.

Specialty Award judges included Gordon Krippaehne, Howard S. Wright; Elaine Ervin, Moss Adams; and Brenda Nnambi, Sound Transit.
