Right next to Seattle Center, the Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown sits on land once owned by the Seattle Monorail Authority. (Remember when we were going to extend the monorail all over town? Anyone?) The 172-room hotel was developed in 2014 by Kauri Investments. This month came a refinancing deal worth about $30.8 million, arranged by JLL's Adrienne Andrews and Jessica Mehra, and supplied by City National Bank. JLL says the floating-rate note has a five-year term, with “a novel interest-rate hedge associated with the transaction that resulted in a reduced fixed rate to achieve a desired debt service coverage target.” Kauri's Kent Angier said of the deal, “It has been a pleasure, once again, to work with Adrienne and her team in a challenging environment to reach a successful financing conclusion.” And today, of course, the Monorail still runs past the hotel, on its short original route.
