Amtrak to cancel train service to Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Amtrak announced Monday it will cancel its popular Cascadia train service between Portland and Eugene because the state will run out of money to subsidize the line.

The Cascadia run and three buses that connect to Portland-to-Seattle trains will stop July 8, officials said.
