LOS OSOS, Calif. (AP) Voters in this small Central Coast town, which regional officials say has outgrown its septic tanks and is polluting its groundwater, recalled three officials who had supported a costly sewer project and replaced them with candidates opposed to it.
Stan Gustafson, Gordon Hensley and Richard LeGros, all of whom sit on a community services board, were kicked out of office Tuesday by a razor-thin margin. They were replaced by John Fouche, Chuck Cesena, and Steven Senet, who are expected to vote to halt the project and start a new one.
