Q. Take a wild guess what was chosen as “Word of the Year for 2010” by the Macquarie Dictionary, Australia's national dictionary online. And if you don't have any idea, maybe one of your “googlegangers” does.
A. Right, that's the word, defined as “other individuals with the same name as yours and whose online references are mixed in with your own,” explained the University of Sydney's online news. Said New Scientist magazine's Feedback section, “We are embarrassed to acknowledge the truth of the comment by Sue Butler, editor of the national dictionary: ‘No one can resist the temptation to key their own name into the search box and see who pops up.'”
