Portland grain mill demo begins with a bang

  • The 116-year-old Centennial Mills building was badly damaged in an Aug. 2 fire.

    Demo crews used explosives to take down the supports of the heavy steel water tower on top of the burned-out Centennial Mills building on Monday ahead of full building demo.

    The infamous burned-out relic of the Rose City's grain-milling past will soon be just a memory.
