A closer look at Portage Bay Bridge's Boyer hillside regrade

Looking northwest at the Boyer Hillside just north of the existing Portage Bay Bridge on July 28.

Crews working on the Washington State Department of Transportation's $1.38 billion SR-520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke lid are set to remove and replace approximately 20,000 cubic yards of soil from the Boyer hillside this summer. That's 10,000 cubic yards fewer than originally planned, but more on that a little later.
