N. Cascades Hwy. to reopen Friday

WINTHROP, Okanogan County — The spring reopening of the North Cascades Highway (state Route 20) is scheduled for tomorrow at 10 a.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The section of the North Cascades Highway between mileposts 134 and 171 closes each winter for safety and access concerns. WSDOT crews finished final avalanche control on Monday.
