Planar profits in stable medical arena

Stock prices reflect Thursday's close. The Dow gave up 45 points to close at 10,450, while the Nasdaq erased earlier losses to end the day 32 points higher, closing at 2,183. The S&P 500 edged 1 point higher to 1,241.
