BREMERTON — The U.S. Navy has issued a solicitation for construction contracts worth up to $30 billion to support shipyard modernization under the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program.

The Multi-Mission Dry Dock Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) is being structured as an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) award, with awardees competing for task orders, the DJC previously reported.

Work focuses on Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton, but also includes Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and other Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command areas.

The notice of solicitations was published Sept. 30. A pre-proposal conference was held Oct. 15. Pre-proposal inquiries are due by noon on Nov. 12.

Major construction task orders will range from $2 billion to $6 billion; smaller task orders may be issued for smaller efforts such as Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/or Alternative Technical Concepts (ATC). Each MACC holder will receive a minimum guarantee in the amount of $1 million.

The official notice of solicitations can be found at https://tinyurl.com/NavySIOP
