Kirkland-based Freiheit & Ho Architects appointed David Hills to succeed Richard Freiheit as president, and Arthur Chang to succeed Hills as executive vice president. This transition shifts management from the original founders to the next generation.
Hills and Chang will continue in project management, and Chang will remain lead designer.
Freiheit will continue as chairman of the board and in an advisory role for several years. Lawrence Ho, principal emeritus, retired in September, and maintains a presence at the firm.
Hills joined Freiheit & Ho in 1987 and became executive vice president in 2012. Chang was hired in 1991. They have led expansion into new markets such as mixed-use, retail and hospitality.
Richard Freiheit said the practice has seen 75 percent growth over the last three years as Hills and Chang have taken on more leadership responsibility.
The firm was founded in 1985.
