In Kirkland, Compass Construction hired Rebecca Chynoweth as executive assistant. The company also made several promotions: Dani McElwee to senior human resources generalist; Martin Gomez Matias to labor foreman; and Dan Peck, Daniel Marks, Nick Cunningham and Scott Miller to project directors. Chynoweth has over 10 years of experience in executive support, corporate marketing, communications and event planning. McElwee joined Compass in July 2021. She obtained her bachelor's degree in human resources management in 2018 and her HR certification in 2021. Gomez Matias was hired in 2015 and is working on the company's first affordable housing project, Bryant Manor. Peck, Marks, Cunningham and Miller were all previously senior project managers. Peck joined Compass in 2014 as a project engineer and has worked in the industry for 15 years. Marks was hired by the company in 2013 as a project manager. Cunningham joined Compass in 2011 as a project engineer and has been in the industry for nearly 20 years. Miller joined Compass in 2012 as a project engineer and recently completed its largest project to date — the first two phases of Yesler Terrace.

Burlington-based Trico Companies has hired Margaret Simpson as human resources manager; Andrea Pettit and Madalyn Heil as project administrators; and McKenna Lautenbach as human resources assistant. Simpson has over 15 years of HR experience in early childhood education, retail and higher education. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and communications from the University of Oregon. Pettit has extensive HR management experience, holds a certificate in HR management, has an active real estate license, and is a Notary Public. Heil has an HR and management background, and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Grand Cayman University. Lautenbach has several years of experience in recruiting, and holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from Central Washington University.

Graham Construction & Management hired John Baker, DBIA, as district manager for its Seattle operations. Baker has 20 years of experience in executive leadership and project development. He previously worked at GenCap Construction and Mortenson Construction, where he delivered over $1 billion worth of projects across the Puget Sound region. The company says Baker has become an expert in GC/CM and design-build contracting, and has extensive experience with alternative delivery projects ranging from $50 million to $500 million in all market sectors.

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington elected its new board members for 2023-2025. They include: Jeff White of Holmberg Mechanical, president; Frank Leonard of Key Mechanical, vice president; Matt Campbell of General Mechanical, secretary/treasurer; and Stacy Johnson of Auburn Mechanical, immediate past president. Also, new directors are Geno Timmons of Enviromech and Maria Boyer of MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions. MCAWW membership consists of union-signatory plumbing, piping and HVAC contractors throughout Western Washington.

Renton Technical College

Dallas-based Invitation Homes said it has signed new partnership agreements with four trade schools in select markets, including Renton Technical College. Associates with Invitation Homes will work with these schools to raise awareness of the value an education in skilled trades can provide, and highlight potential career pathways. These partnerships are part of the company's skilled trades initiative called Invitation to SkillUp, which launched in 2021. In addition to raising awareness of a skilled trades education, the initiative seeks to expand access to these schools through need-based and minority scholarships. The other trade schools are in North Carolina, Florida and California. Invitation Homes leases single-family homes in 16 markets across the U.S.
