Owens

In Burlington, Trico Companies hired Tyler Owens as a project engineer. Owens earlier this year graduated from the University of Redlands with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in spatial studies. At Trico, he is assisting project teams with various aspects of workflow, budget allocation, scheduling and other project-related activities.

Lindal Cedar Homes

Christina Lindal has become president of Seattle-based Lindal Cedar Homes. She previously was executive vice president and succeeds her father, Bob Lindal, who has spent the past few years gradually transferring responsibility for day-to-day operations to her. Christina spent 15 years working in various positions at the company to become familiar with all aspects of the business, including marketing, accounting, sales and manufacturing.

“I drew my first paycheck from Lindal 60 years ago, and became CEO and president in 1981,” said Bob, who remains board chair. “While I've never had a timeline for the change in leadership, it's always been the plan to transfer management of the company to the next generation when the time was right. That time has come. I have full confidence in Christina's experience and ability to lead Lindal successfully into the future.”

Founded in 1945 by Sir Walter Lindal, Lindal Cedar Homes makes custom post-and-beam home packages, delivered to clients' build sites worldwide.

Absher Construction Co.

Puyallup-based Absher Construction Co. joined 20 general contractors in the United States in signing the Contractor's Commitment to Sustainable Building Practices created by BuildingGreen's Sustainable Construction Leaders group. The commitment provides benchmarks specific to the construction industry in five areas: carbon reduction, jobsite wellness, waste management, water management and materials.

Harts Services

Tacoma-based plumbing company Harts Services opened a new Seattle location to meet demand. Harts now covers much of western Washington, from Olympia to Everett and Bremerton to Redmond. The company was founded in Tacoma in 2013 by co-owners Richard Hart and Dan Hartsough.

ABC of Western Washington

Three firms joined the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington: Yes We Can Flaggers of Seattle, Interstate Sheet Metal of Battle Ground, and XP Painting and Property Services of Vancouver. Yes We Can Flaggers specializes in traffic control instruction and services, including setups and take downs. Interstate furnishes and installs sheet metal roofing and siding, gutters and downspouts, and flashing. XP is a commercial and residential painting contractor that was recently MWBE certified.

Milgard Windows and Doors

Five team members from Milgard Windows and Doors recently volunteered with Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity to install Milgard V300 Trinsic Series vinyl windows. The installations were part of Habitat Build Day. Milgard is part of Miter Brands.
