Kniffin

Burlington-based Trico Companies hired Greg Kniffin as senior project engineer and Hunter Vick as civil project manager. Kniffin has 16 years of construction experience as a project manager and as a QA/QC manager. He has worked for companies across the country. Vick has 20 years of experience in the construction industry, beginning as a laborer in the pipeline/energy and building trades fields. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Louisiana Tech University.

McKinstry

Seattle-based McKinstry is partnering with AkitaBox to deliver facility condition assessment software. McKinstry says it is partnering with AkitaBox to enhance its facility condition assessment and asset data collection, analysis and reporting. AkitaBox's software digitizes a facility's floor plans and maps the location of each asset to the plan, creating a digital twin. Assessment data is collected and incorporated directly into the digital twin. This data can continue to be updated for an always current view of facility condition. AkitaBox is based in Madison, Wisconsin.

ABC of Western Washington

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington has three new members: Spec Drywall of Burlington; All City Fence of Seattle; and the WEX Chevron/Texaco business gas card program. Spec Drywall provides light-gauge metal framing, and drywall installation and finishing. All City installs fences and gates, and sells materials.

In Redmond, Deacon Construction hired Alex Bozhko and Steven Pearce as superintendents; Josh Boyd, Kyle Montzheimer and Austin Shope as project engineers; and Brandon Jason as project assistant. Bozhko has over 15 years of industry experience and hands-on skills from his own company in project management. Pearce has over 17 years of industry experience, including demolition and safety management. Along with his work as superintendent, he is also warehouse manager. Boyd recently graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor's degree in construction management, and has worked as a carpenter and labor. Montzheimer comes from DCI Engineers. He has over five years of experience and a hold's a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Washington State University. Shope comes from OMA Construction and Graham Contracting. He has over eight years of industry experience and a background in architecture. Jason joined Deacon as a temp to help with administrative tasks and is now a permanent employee.

Auburn Mechanical

Southern

Mark Southern is the new chief financial officer at Auburn Mechanical. Southern has a wide-ranging background, with experience in construction, technology and manufacturing. The company says he will apply his knowledge, guidance and resources to make informed decisions that support front-line employees, owners and clients. Auburn Mechanical specializes in mechanical design, HVAC, plumbing, fitting, refrigeration and maintenance.

Alston Construction

Miller

Alston Construction hired Patrick Miller as a project manager in the company's Tacoma office. Miller oversees planning and budgeting of projects, working with the management team to ensure that projects are on schedule. He has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Trident University International. Alston, a general contractor, operates 22 offices across the country.

Garco Construction

The Associated General Contractors of America appointed Hollis Barnett, vice president of Garco Construction in Spokane, to its national board of directors. Barnett has served on the board of the Inland Northwest AGC for 12 years, and was chapter president in 2020. As local president, he spearheaded a drive that more than doubled the chapter's PAC contributions, making it the sixth highest AGC PAC contributing chapter. Barnett has been at Garco for over 30 years and is a shareholder in the company.
