GridStor

Portland-based GridStor named Daniel Dedrick as the company's chief technology officer. Dedrick has more than 20 years of experience leading power system engineering, technology development, and project development across multiple energy technologies. He joined GridStor in 2022 and served most recently as the company's senior vice president of engineering, procurement, and construction and technical operations. As CTO, Dedrick will continue reporting to Chris Taylor, CEO of GridStor and will drive the company's technology strategy in alignment with business goals. He will oversee technical operations associated with GridStor's fast-growing portfolio of battery energy storage systems, including transmission and interconnection, EPC, project operations, and asset management. Tony Song, GridStor's vice president of EPC, will step into the role of senior vice president of EPC and add oversight of the company's project construction activities to his responsibilities for project engineering and technology selection. Prior to joining GridStor, Dedrick headed the EPC services and major equipment team at Clearway Energy Group. Dedrick holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. GridStor develops, acquires, and operates utility-scale, standalone battery storage projects primarily across North America.

Suncadia

As Suncadia celebrates its 25th anniversary, the year-round mountain resort community located 80 miles east of Seattle, announced a $40 million growth and development plan that will see an expansion of amenities and residential communities. The $4 million renovation of The Lodge at Suncadia, unveiled in May 2024, marked the beginning of numerous transformative projects set to revitalize and reimagine the resort in 2025 and beyond. Late summer 2024 also saw an expansion of its trail system, and the addition of a 455-foot pump track and playground at Nelson Farm. The centerpiece of these development plans is Suncadia Social, a new community hub that will debut in 2026. Located within walking distance of The Lodge, golf courses, fitness center, and spa, Suncadia Social will feature a variety of shops including grocery, home goods, outdoor gear, as well as restaurants, a wine bar, a coffee shop, new paved pathways, common green spaces, and communal firepits. Suncadia's residential community is also expanding with the development of new mountain bungalows and rowhouses, known as The Residences at Suncadia Social. Updates to guest rooms in The Lodge will begin in fall 2025, and upgrades to the outdoor sanctuary at Glade Spring Spa are scheduled for completion in winter 2025.

Lease Crutcher Lewis

Nielsen

Seattle general contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis (Lewis) has promoted Joe Nielsen to director of operations overseeing Lewis' education market sector in Washington. Since joining Lewis 15 years ago, Nielsen has played a major role in delivering progressive design-build projects at the University of Washington, including the Hans Rosling Center for Population Health, Health Sciences Education Building, Haring Center renovation, and Innovation Hall for UW Bothell and Cascadia College. His leadership also extends to Lewis' ongoing work at Washington State University's Schweitzer Engineering Hall and at Northshore School District's Kenmore and Maywood Hills elementary schools. He is currently leading preconstruction for Lake Washington School District projects, including Lewis' upcoming work at Emerson K-12 in late 2025. As a progressive design-build delivery leader, Nielsen is committed to building integrated teams that behave as a single entity to work toward client priorities.

Pacific Office Automation (POA) announced a strategic expansion of its executive leadership team under the direction of its newly appointed CEO, Adam Pritchett. As part of POA's commitment to growth, the company has promoted the following employees to vice president roles: Nick Duyn, regional vice president, Oregon market; TJ Wiesenberger, vice president, Colorado and Texas markets; Eric Pitassi, vice president, California and Nevada markets; and Sonny O'Grady, vice president, Utah and Idaho markets. Fujifilm Sonosite

Fujifilm Sonosite promoted Dennis Giacomino to the newly created role of chief commercial officer. Giacomino is a company veteran, serving in progressively senior roles in the sales and customer experience function since joining the company in 2009. In his new role, he will assume responsibility for the company's global commercial business leading sales, sales enablement, and market development of Fujifilm Sonosite products globally. Giacomino will be based at the firm's headquarters in Bothell. Fujifilm Sonosite provides bedside and point-of-care ultrasound and ultra-high frequency micro-ultrasound technology. The company is represented by a global distribution network in over 100 countries.

Alpenglow Biosciences

Seattle-based Alpenglow Biosciences named Blandine Merino and Mike Rice to its advisory board. Merino has over 20 years of experience driving product development, business operations, and strategy at companies like Guardant Health, Freenome, and Agilent. She specializes in NGS, digital pathology, and AI-powered cancer detection. At Guardant Health, she led cross-functional teams to expand the use of NGS testing in clinical trials, partnering with over 50 biopharma companies to advance cancer drug development. As VP of business development at Freenome, she developed and executed a strategy that accelerated the launch of a multi-analyte, machine-learning-powered early cancer detection test. She established co-development programs with academic medical centers and biopharma partners and led initiatives for licensing and global expansion. Merino is also the founder of Bio2Market, a consulting firm supporting life sciences and AI-driven companies. She holds an M.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of Paris-Saclay and an M.S. in Engineering from ISA Graduate School in Bioengineering. Rice is a veteran life science tools executive with more than 17 years of public company leadership experience. As former chairman and CEO of BioLife Solutions he led the transformation of the company from a small operation with fewer than 10 employees into a critical supplier of proprietary cell processing reagents with over 500 employees. Alpenglow is a venture-backed company focused on accelerating drug development and improving clinical diagnostics with AI-enabled 3D spatial imaging technology.

Maier

Philip Maier has joined Dorsey & Whitney as a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions group in Boise. Maier represents clients in a full range of corporate and transactional matters, including capital raises, mergers and acquisitions, and financings. Maier has significant experience representing mining and project development companies, where he assists clients in complex business transactions, land acquisition and lease agreements, and secured loan facilities, together with general corporate matters. Maier has practiced mergers and acquisitions and mining law for nearly a decade. He received his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and his B.A. from University of Nevada, Reno. Maier's's arrival continues the growth of Dorsey's Boise office since it opened in 2023, bringing the attorney count in this office to more than a dozen. This includes the strategic expansion of its Intellectual Property group with Dana Herberholz and Jordan Stott, who joined Dorsey in 2024. Business innovation firm Point B named David Hanfland as its new chief executive officer. Hanfland will lead the company's ongoing expansion of accelerating customer outcomes with technology building on Point B's 30-year heritage of strategic execution. Hanfland joins Point B after more than 30 years in the industry, most recently with Kearney, where he has been a member of the firm's global leadership team for the past 10 years with roles on the board of directors, leading the Americas region and most recently leading strategy and corporate development of the firm. He brings experience scaling professional services businesses, including helping Kearney to strengthen its digital and analytics capabilities through targeted hiring and M&A. Hanfland holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is a graduate of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, where he has served on the Dean's Advisory Council for more than 23 years.
