Endicott

TRICO Companies, a design-build general contractor based in Burlington, hired Rick Endicott as superintendent. Endicott has over 18 years of experience in the construction industry, and specializes in numerous construction methods, including concrete, wood frame, steel, and metal frame. His experience spans a wide range of project types, including schools, specialized laboratories, office and campus buildings, medical office buildings, and data centers. He holds certifications in OSHA 30 and first aid/CPR as well as other industry certifications including SWPPP, rigging, crane management, coaching and developing people, and workplace suicide prevention and mental health. TRICO has been in business since 1979, and is licensed across Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, Mississippi, Tennessee and California.

FORMA Construction

Phillips

FORMA Construction announced the retirement of Drew Phillips, director of business development, after a career spanning several decades. As a fifth-generation Olympia contractor, Phillips career has taken him through a wide range of roles, including laborer, carpenter, project manager, estimator, and principal. During his tenure at FORMA, Phillips was instrumental in delivering numerous high-profile projects, including over five major facilities at Saint Martin's University. Among these is the Father Bede Ernsdorff Center for the Department of Natural Sciences. He also led the award-winning Olympia Regional Learning Academy and oversaw the recent refresh of the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. Beyond his professional achievements, Phillips has been active in the broader Thurston County community. His contributions include serving on numerous boards and organizations dedicated to education, the arts, and community development. In 2019, Phillips was awarded the Distinguished Leader Award from Leadership Thurston County. To celebrate his career, a retirement party will be held 4-7 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the Heritage Room in Olympia.

Columbia Sportswear

Portland-based Columbia Sportswear announced that the Columbia brand has a new creative agency partner and marketing leadership to oversee the brand's new creative strategy. These changes are part of the brand's strategic vision that will pair product strategy with integrated marketing. The Columbia brand has been working to bring the new strategic vision to life internally over the last few months, culminating in a company-wide preview of what's to come earlier this month. The Columbia brand appointed adam&eveDDB as its global agency of record following a competitive pitch against several undisclosed global agencies. The global account will be led by adam&eveDDB London in close partnership with its New York and San Francisco offices. To lead its new marketing direction, the company hired Matthew Sutton to serve as senior vice president and head of marketing for the Columbia brand in September 2024. Sutton brings deep experience in brand and digital marketing, recently leading retail and direct-to-consumer brands including The Black Tux and FreshDirect as chief marketing officer.

Washington National Park Fund

Dubiel

Washington's National Park Fund (WNPF), the official philanthropic partner to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks, appointed Steven Dubiel as its next CEO. Dubiel has over two decades of leadership experience in the conservation sector, most recently serving as community investments & engagement section manager at King County Parks. Prior to that he was the executive director at EarthCorps for 22 years. Dubiel's appointment comes after an extensive selection process conducted in collaboration with Seattle-based nonprofit executive search firm Clover Search Works.

“Steve's experience spans fundraising, financial management, government affairs, and program development, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of nonprofit leadership,” said Tony Hoskins, WNPF Board Chair. Dubiel replaces WNPF's previous CEO Laurie Ward, who retired in 2023 after leading the organization for over a decade. Dubiel will be tasked with continuing WNPF's momentum in annual fundraising while driving WNPF's Together for the Parks strategic growth campaign. WNPF was founded by former governor and senator Dan Evans and mountaineer Lou Whittaker, and is the only philanthropic organization dedicated solely to Washington's three largest national parks. WNPF has awarded more than $7.5 million to the parks in the last decade.

Hammond

Heron's Key, a resort-style senior living community located in Gig Harbor, appointed Laura Hammond as their new sales and marketing advisor. Hammond has more than 40 years of experience in marketing and sales. Over the course of her career, Hammond spearheaded new business developments and crafted effective strategies to increase sales. Hammond holds a Bachelor of Education from the Oregon State University and a Master of Communication from Simmons College. In her role, Hammond will play a key part in driving the continued growth of Heron's Key Phase Two expansion plans. .She will also be responsible for ensuring residents have a smooth transition into the community, manage inquiries and conduct community tours. Heron's Key, sponsored by Emerald Communities, is a Washington state-based, not-for-profit senior housing and service organization.

BECU has promoted Bryan MacDonald to executive vice president and chief impact officer, a newly created role. MacDonald has been with the credit union for more than 14 years, most recently serving as senior vice president of Enterprise Risk Management. In his new role, he will oversee BECU's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Social Impact, Communications and Government Relations teams. Previously, MacDonald served in senior risk roles at BECU as well as other financial institutions, including Washington Mutual, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. MacDonald has served as the executive sponsor and an active member of BECU's Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Employee Resource Group since its inception in 2021. BECU's new Impact division will build upon a commitment to give back to its communities and create a culture of equity and inclusion. BECU is the largest not-for-profit credit union in Washington, and currently operates more than 60 financial centers, including two in South Carolina.

The Governor's Committee on Disability Issues & Employment (GCDE) recently honored 10 Washington employers for their work recruiting, hiring, retaining and advancing workers with disabilities. They honored small employers (one to 99 employees), medium-sized employers (100 to 499 employees) and large employers (500 to more than 2,000 employees). Recipients of the 2024 Governor's Employer Awards Program are: Mr. Fix Auto Service, Grandview, Youth Employer of the Year; Central Washington Disability Resources, Ellensburg, Small Nonprofit Employer of the Year; Washington Vocational Resources, Everett, Small Nonprofit Employer of the Year; The Hearthstone at Green Lake, Seattle, Medium Nonprofit Employer of the Year; Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, Large Nonprofit Employer of the Year; ProStar Insurance, Bothell, Small Private Employer of the Year; POSDATA Group, Gig Harbor, Small Private Employer of the Year; Allegro Pediatrics, Bellevue, Medium Private Employer of the Year; Red Robin (Division 3 Marketing Team 2), Federal Way, Large Private Employer of the Year; and Hanford Mission Integration Solutions, Richland, Large Private Employer of the Year. The committee also acknowledged Renae Voth with the Direct Support Professional of the Year Award. Voth is an employment consultant in the Skagit County office of Washington Vocational Services. Washington businesses, agencies, organizations and individuals submitted the nominations, and a panel of GCDE members, business representatives and previous award recipients selected this year's honorees. The GCDE advises the governor, Legislature, state agencies and other policy makers on issues important to people with disabilities.

The Washington Chapter of the APWA announced completion of voting on its new 2025-2026 board and 2025 officers. Incoming 2025-2026 board members are: Kim Klinkers, PE, city engineer, city of Lake Stevens; Charlie Green, PE, engineering design manager, Public Works Engineering Services, Snohomish County; Robert McAndrews, MPA, public works director, city of College Place; and Grace Richardson, Puget Sound region marketing manager, David Evans and Associates. Justin Matthews, principal / transportation project manager, KPFF Consulting Engineers, was named the new secretary for 2025. He will be rotating through the officer roles until his presidency in 2028. Also completed was confirmation voting for the current officers who will all advance to the next officer role in 2025: president, Jeff Brauns, PE, public works director, city of Newcastle; vice president, Jim Rioux, project manager, public works engineering, city of Olympia; and treasurer, Caroline Barlow, PE, CMOM program manager, Seattle Public Utilities. The outgoing board members who served from 2023 and will remain until the end of this year are Leah Rohan, PE,city of Walla Walla; Mary Heather Ames, PE, city of Pasco; Bill Preston, PE, city of Yakima; and Justin Matthews, PE, KPFF Consulting Engineers, (voted in as the new 2025 Secretary).

Seattle-based F5 added Maya McReynolds and Julie Gonzalez to its board of directors. Both will also serve on the Audit Committee. McReynolds currently serves as chief financial officer, Client Solutions Group, at Dell Technologies, where she is responsible for leading financial strategy for the more than $50 billion business. She is a finance and accounting executive with experience in global audit, treasury, and financial planning and analysis, and has an extensive background in SEC reporting, and policy development. Gonzalez is currently senior vice president, business finance, at Workday Inc., where she leads the team responsible for forecasting and planning Workday's quarterly, annual, and long-term financial performance and for providing performance insights across the organization. She is an experienced finance executive with expertise in strategic and financial planning and analysis for large complex software organizations. With these two appointments, F5's board expands to 12 members, 11 of whom are independent.
