Seattle-based Shiftboard announced Eric Amblard has joined the company's executive leadership team as chief financial officer. Amblard comes to Shiftboard with three decades of finance and operational leadership experience in scaling SaaS companies. Most recently, he served as the CFO of Roostify (acquired by CoreLogic), a fintech market provider. Prior to that, Amblard served as the CFO of EverString, a B2B predictive analytics company acquired by ZoomInfo. Before these roles, Amblard held executive positions at several organizations, including NetBoost, Intel, Ensim (acquired by Ingram Micro), KXEN, and SAP. Shiftboard is a provider of employee scheduling software.
Cyemptive Technologies, a provider of pre-emptive cybersecurity solutions for business and government, announced its expansion into the French, Belgian and Italian markets, including naming Jean-Luc Cervera as business development senior consultant for the region. An international expert in solutions sales with more than 35 years of experience, Cervera will be responsible for assisting Cyemptive as it enters these markets. His initial focus will be on the insurance, healthcare and industrial sectors. Cervera spent nine years at Hitachi Data Systems, where he served as vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa Compute Platform and Converged Solutions Sales. He is also a founding partner of JLC Consulting, an international consulting firm specializing in helping businesses both large and small move forward to growing their businesses to the next level. Cervera's appointment is the second move the company has made to expand its European operations in recent weeks, and the third to expand its overall international operations. In August, the company announced its expansion into the United Kingdom and Germany with the appointment of former NETSOL Technologies board member and senior manager at KPMG Johannes Riedl as vice president of cyber solutions Europe, and in September its expansion into the Middle East and the Americas with the appointment of international business executive and cybersecurity veteran Varun Vaid as vice president of cyber solutions - strategic accounts. Cyemptive is headquartered in Seattle. The company's leadership team is comprised of executives from several technology and security organizations, including the former CIO of Microsoft and the former chief computer architect for the National Security Agency.

Vilya appointed Cyrus Harmon as its chief executive officer. Harmon brings decades of experience as an executive and entrepreneur at the intersection of drug discovery, molecular biology and computation to the role, and will also join the board of directors. Previously, Harmon co-founded and served as CEO of Olema Oncology, a company focused on women's cancers, before transitioning to the role of chief research officer. He also co-founded and served as CEO of Neomorphic, a genomic software company acquired by Affymetrix. Harmon completed his Ph.D. and bachelor's degrees in molecular and cell biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Harmon joins Katerina Leftheris, Vilya's chief scientific officer, on the company's leadership team. Leftheris held senior roles in drug discovery at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pliant Therapeutics, Celgene and Vitae Therapeutics. Also, Vilya co-founders Sabah Oney and Inca Dieterich will join the board of directors. Vilya named its scientific advisory board, which includes Brian Shoichet of the University of California, San Francisco; Jennifer Petter, founder and chief innovation officer of Arrakis Therapeutics; Nick Meanwell, former vice president at Bristol-Myers Squibb; William Greenlee of Medchem Discovery Consulting; and Philip Dawson of Scripps Research. Vilya is a computational biotechnology company creating a novel class of medicines to precisely target disease biology. Vilya was co-founded by a team of scientists from the Institute of Protein Design led by David Baker, and ARCH Venture Partners. The company has operations in Seattle and South San Francisco.
Mandy Ho joined The Matthews Group at UBS, part of UBS Private Wealth Management, as a relationship manager at the firm's Bellevue office. Ho has extensive experience working with nonprofits and institutional investors. She joins UBS from BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where she served as senior director, wealth manager. Prior to BNY Mellon, she was a senior vice president, portfolio manager at Key Private Bank. She earned a bachelor's degree and an MBA from Wheeling Jesuit University. She also earned a master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Ho is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Investment Management Analyst. Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Vini E. Samuel to the Grays Harbor County Superior Court. She will replace Judge David Edwards, who will retire from the bench after this year. Currently, Samuel serves as the mayor of the xity of Montesano and has also owned and operated a private law firm in Montesano since 2004. Her practice has focused on family law, and also includes estate planning, real estate and probate. Prior to 2004, Samuel's practice included handling criminal matters, bankruptcies and serving as a guardian ad litem. During her career, she has also served as a pro tem judge on the Grays Harbor District Court bench, as well as a hearings officer for the city of Montesano. She has worked primarily in Grays Harbor since 1997 but also regularly appeared in Pacific County, Quinault Tribal Court, and Thurston County courts. Samuel is active in the Grays Harbor County community, as a Rotarian, a lifetime member of the Friends of the Library, a member of Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia State Parks, and a member of the Grays Harbor Communications E-911 Board of Directors. Samuel earned her bachelor's degree from Western Washington University where she now serves on the University's Foundation Board. She earned her law degree from Seattle University School of Law.

Russell Investments has entered into a partnership With Venerable Holdings to build a new multi-manager variable annuity platform.
