Kenmore's Deputy City Manager Stephanie Lucash was elected president of the Washington City/County Management Association (WCMA) by her peers across the state. Lucash will serve as WCMA's president for the next year. She was elected to the WCMA board of directors in 2019, and previously served as vice president for 2021-22. As WCMA president, Lucash will lead the organization's efforts to support the professional development of, and collaboration between, city and county managers and administrators and other local government leaders from across the state. She has been a WCMA member for 20 years and is the sixth woman to hold the president role since the WCMA was founded in 1960. Lucash will have a voting seat on the Association of Washington Cities Board of Directors for two years, and will also represent the state through the International City/County Management Association. The WCMA also recognized Lucash with the Outstanding Assistant Award. The primary goal of the Washington City/County Management Association is to increase the proficiency, quality and professionalism of local government management by providing education and support services to members and their agencies. WCMA also actively assists the Association of Washington Cities in its programing, legislative efforts, and support role to local government.

Symetra Financial Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Life Insurance Company, designated Sally Jewell as chair of its board of directors. Jewell, former U.S. Secretary of the Interior under President Barack Obama and former CEO of REI, joined Symetra's board in March 2018. She succeeds Thomas Marra, who recently resigned after serving as chair since 2017. Jewell served as president and CEO of REI from 2005 to 2013. Prior to REI, Jewell spent 19 years in the banking industry in a variety of executive roles, preceded by her early career as an engineer in the energy sector. Jewell has served on the boards of numerous corporate, nonprofit and civic organizations. In addition to Symetra, she currently serves on the boards of Costco Wholesale, Green Diamond Resource, and The Nature Conservancy. Jewell served as the interim CEO of The Nature Conservancy from 2019-2020 and as the Edward V. Fritzky Endowed Chair in Leadership at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business for the 2021-22 academic year. In business since 1957, Symetra Financial Corporation is a diversified financial services company based in Bellevue.
Belleuve-based Edifecs, a global health information technology solutions company, appointed Rod O'Reilly as chairman of the board. O'Reilly's experience in the healthcare industry spans business and product strategy, finance and operations. O'Reilly is currently the non-executive chairman of the board for Augmedix, a San Francisco-based medical documentation and data solution company. He also serves on the board of directors for KLAS Research, a healthcare industry research firm; Prescryptive Health, a healthcare consumer-focused mobile communication tool; and Rhapsody Health, a healthcare data interoperability company. He previously served as executive vice president and president of software and analytics at Change Healthcare, and as president at McKesson Corporation. O'Reilly earned a bachelor's degree with a joint major in economics and finance from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, and an MBA from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

The Port of Everett named Cara Craig as its new trade development director to support continued growth of the Port of Everett's international seaport division, which represents nearly $30 billion in U.S. import and export value annually. Craig will interface with the Port's international customers, explore new ways to serve existing customers, attract new business opportunities, and ensure the economic vitality of the Port and the region it serves. Craig has more than 25 years of business development, transportation and global supply chain management experience in both the U.S. and Canada. She comes to the Port from Omega Morgan, a specialized transportation company headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, where she has worked for the past 10 years, most recently as the director of sales. The Port's Seaport team has worked with Craig for many of those years, hauling over-dimensional cargoes to and from Everett. Craig is also a member of the Railway Industrial Clearance Association of North America, which is dedicated to serving the heavy and dimensional transportation industry. The Port of Everett is the third largest container port in Washington.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue appointed Christine Lessard as the organization's new chief development officer. Lessard has experience in program development and organizational strategy. She previously worked at the University of Washington and Seattle Girls' School, where she implemented programs to empower and uplift youth. As chief development officer, Lessard will spearhead the organization's efforts to expand its reach, deepen its impact, and forge connections with the Bellevue community. Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue maintains 18 Clubhouses that provide a safe and fun place for more than 12,200 local youths. During out-of-school hours, staff deliver programs focused on academics, health, and leadership.
Agri-Service acquired the Lewiston and Moscow, Idaho locations of AGCO dealer Blue Mountain Agri-Support. AGCO, based in Duluth, Georgia, designs, manufactures, and distributes agricultural machinery and precision ag technology. Agri-Service, now a 13-location AGCO dealership serving Idaho, southeast Washington, and parts of Oregon, will maintain existing management and staff. Agri-Service's expansion will provide sales and services for AGCO's full lineup of brands and equipment. Blue Mountain Agri-Support has been a dealer in the Northern Idaho region for over 30 years. This acquisition will provide farmers in the region with expanded access to AGCO's brands and products and additional support.

Seattle Storm basketball player Jewell Loyd, an eight-year WNBA veteran and Olympic gold medalist, has teamed up with Gopuff to deliver food, drinks and home essentials to Seattle nonprofits, including those dedicated to improving equity and opportunity for women and families. Gopuff is also providing food and drink to Loyd and her teammates each week, delivered right to the team after practice in Seattle and after games on the road. Additionally, Gopuff created the Jewell Loyd Snack Collection, which includes protein bars, sparkling water and fresh fruit. The partnership with nonprofits is an extension of Gopuff's community engagement and support of athletes. Gopuff is an instant commerce platform founded in 2013 by co-CEOs Rafael Ilishayev and Yakir Gola.
Bellevue-based Edifecs was named a winner of the Sustainability Initiative of the Year Award in Business Intelligence Group's (BIG) 2023 Sustainability Awards.
