BECU, the country’s fourth largest credit union, announced it has welcomed Rick Eielas executive vice president and its first chief data and analytics officer. In his new role, Eiel is responsible for developing and enabling enterprise data, analytic and insight capabilities that will inform and accelerate the credit union’s business strategies, execution and performance. “Rick’s extensive background paired with his ability to use data and analytics to drive member and business outcomes made him the right choice to join our executive team to lead these crucial areas,” said Beverly Anderson, BECU’s president and chief executive officer. “At BECU, we strive to continue to find even more meaningful ways to better serve our members and expand our reach to more communities. Most recently, he served as the head of Product and Analytics at Equifax, where he managed the direct-to-consumer digital platform, credit monitoring and identity protection products. He earned his Master of Business Administration, with concentrations in Information Systems and Economics, from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. With more than 1.3 million members and $30.2 billion in assets, BECU is the largest not-for-profit credit union in Washington and one of the top four financial cooperatives in the country.

Washington Trust Bank

Washington Trust Bank announced the addition of Kevin Bedlington to its Commercial Banking team in the north Puget Sound region as vice president and relationship manager. While Bedlington is new to Washington Trust Bank, he is not new to banking. He brings over 22 years of experience in the financial industry to the team, having worked in commercial lending at other western Washington financial institutions since 2001.

SEATTLE – Schroeter Goldmark & Bender recently welcomed Craig Sims and Kaitlin Cherf to the Seattle-based law firm's shareholder group.

Sims is an accomplished trial lawyer with over 25 years of litigation and leadership experience, whose practice focuses on asbestos and mesothelioma, civil rights, product liability, personal injury and wrongful death. Sims joined SGB in 2018. He has a proven record of accomplishment in litigating cases with significant verdict wins and settlements exceeding $20 million. Before entering private practice, Sims was the Criminal Division Chief in the Seattle Attorney's Office, where he led a team of over 60 attorneys and staff. He also served as a Senior King County prosecutor for more than a decade, where he prosecuted homicide and other high-profile cases. Sims earned his law degree from Seattle University.

Cherf (formerly Wright) joined SGB in 2018, bringing extensive experience and skill in asbestos litigation. During her tenure at SGB, Cherf's focus has included litigation of personal injury and wrongful death cases, along with representing plaintiffs in civil rights matters. In a decade of practicing law, her work has resulted in significant jury awards and settlements for her clients, including a verdict that was the largest in Oregon's history for an asbestos-related disease contracted from occupational exposure in that state. She also helped to set a record in Washington for a case involving take-home asbestos exposure. Cherf graduated from Seattle University School of Law.

Summit Bank

Oakes

Craig Wanichek, president and chief executive officer of Summit Bank announced that the Oregon-based business bank is growing its presence in the Portland market and expanding into Washington County. The office will be led by veteran community banker Greg Oakes, who started with Summit Bank on January 23. The office is located at 1915 NE Stucki Ave, Hillsboro. Oakes will join the bank as senior vice president and team leader. He has over 34 years of commercial banking experience in the local area. Oakes is a graduate of the University of Oregon, and currently serves as the president of the Rotary of Beaverton and is on the board of directors of Community Access Services II Inc., a local non-profit that supports individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. This office was opened late last year by senior vice president, and business client advisor Joshua Adams. Additionally, Wanichek announced that Jamie Moffitt, senior vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer of the University of Oregon is joining the Board of Directors of Summit Bank. Moffitt steps in for Ann Marie Mehlum, founding president and CEO of Summit Bank and member of the Summit Bank Board of Directors since 2017. Mehlum is retiring from the board in April, 2023. Summit Bank has offices in Eugene, Central Oregon, and downtown Portland.

Tanium

Tanium appointed Dan Streetman to the role of chief executive officer. Orion Hindawi, who is the co-founder and current CEO of Tanium, will assume the role of executive chairman. David Hindawi, co-founder of Tanium, will transition to chairman emeritus. Most recently, Streetman served as CEO of Allvue Systems, and prior to that, he served as CEO of TIBCO Software. In his earlier career, Streetman oversaw data-driven transformations at BMC, Salesforce, and C3.ai. Streetman becomes the newest addition to an executive leadership team, including Bina Chaurasia, chief administrative and operating officer; Charles Ross, chief customer officer; Marc Levine, chief financial officer; Nic Surpatanu, chief product officer; Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer; Tobias Julén, chief people officer; and Tyker Fagg, chief revenue officer. Tanium is a IT operations and security management company and supplier of converged endpoint management based in Kirkland.

P-Patch Community Gardening Program

The Seattle City Council and Mayor Bruce Harrell have proclaimed 2023 to be the Year of Community Gardening in honor of the P-Patch Community Gardening Program's 50th anniversary. The P-Patch Community Gardening Program, managed by the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, is the largest municipally managed community gardening program west of New York. Community gardeners grow food, flowers, and herbs on 15 acres of land across the city of Seattle and provide stewardship for an additional 35 acres. All P-Patch gardens are open to the public to enjoy and are utilized as restorative spaces, learning and idea incubators, and venues for community gatherings.

ZoomInfo

Vancouver-based ZoomInfo, a global provider of modern go-to-market software, data, and intelligence, appointed Ali Dasdan as chief technology officer and Dave Justice as chief revenue officer. Dasdan joins ZoomInfo from Atlassian, where he was the head of engineering for work management. Dasdan will oversee the company's innovation and development efforts, including leading the product-led growth organization focused on bringing the ZoomInfo platform to more users. Nir Keren, ZoomInfo's chief technology officer since 2015, will be leaving the organization. Justice, who will join ZoomInfo on Feb. 6, served as chief revenue officer of PagerDuty for the past three years. He previously held senior sales positions at Salesforce and Cisco.
