AHBL announced the following promotions. Bart Brynestad, PE has been promoted to associate principal. Scott Kaul, PE has been promoted to senior project manager, and Larry Higgins, PE, Tom Dargan, PE, and Alex Campbell, AICP have all been promoted to AHBL project managers.

Brynestad, PE has been promoted to an associate Principal within the Civil Division at AHBL. Brynestad is an experienced civil engineer with nine years of technical experience on all aspects of land development engineering. His experience includes leading the civil design on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. He has experience with many municipalities throughout Washington and helps them meet their goals and schedules during the land use, permitting, and construction phases. As an associate principal, Brynestad will continue to manage his portfolio of work and work closely with the principals to learn AHBL's business model and contribute to its continued success in the private land development market.

Kaul, PE has been promoted to a senior project manager within the Civil Division – Tacoma. Kaul is an experienced civil engineer with 17 years' experience designing a variety of project types including residential, commercial, municipal, educational, military, and industrial. Kaul's technical experience includes a broad knowledge of site development including entitlements, and site utility design and calculations, site grading, storm drainage design, AutoCAD drawings, drawing revisions, and construction administration. His work with municipalities in the Pacific Northwest, affords him relationships with the permitting agencies, benefiting his private clients with support navigating the land use and permitting process in a timely manner, preserving project schedules and budgets. Kaul is familiar with alternative delivery methods including design/build and general contractor/construction manager. He primarily manages projects for developers and architects on single family subdivision, multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use project types.

Higgins, PE has been promoted to project manager within the Structural Division of AHBL. Higgins has spent 25 years of professional engineering experience work for AHBL on a variety of project types, including industrial development for industrial development including office buildings, warehouses, and distribution centers. He has demonstrated ability to create cost effective designs and unique solutions using a variety of structural materials and systems. Prior to becoming a professional engineer, Higgins was an electronic engineer for 12 years working for the Department of Defense and NASA. He will be managing projects for many of AHBL's industrial clients with a specialization in concrete tilt-up and multi-story industrial construction.

Dargan has been promoted to project manager at AHBL within the Civil Division of AHBL. Dargan is a civil engineer and brings over 20 years' experience working on public and private projects, including military, healthcare, commercial, education, and data centers. His design experience includes stormwater modeling and reporting, sanitary sewer design, water distribution systems, ADA accessibility, and site grading. Dargan has recent experience working on education and field renovation projects. He will continue to work with a wide range of clients.

Campbell has been promoted to project manager at AHBL in the planning team. He is a seasoned planner with nearly a decade of experience working on a wide range of planning, development, and parks projects for private and public-sector clients throughout Washington. He brings specialized experience with development review, planning policy development and implementation, code writing and interpretation, environmental review, and parks and open space planning. Campbell's public engagement experience includes developing outreach materials, leading public presentations/workshops, and briefings to elected officials. He offers demonstrated expertise of working within the context of Washington's Growth Management Act (GMA), State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), and Shoreline Management Act (SMA). Campbell's extensive current planning and development review experience is highlighted by his role as the City of Black Diamond's reviewing planner for the Ten Trails and Lawson Hills Master Planned Developments (MPDs), two of the largest active MPDs in the state.

Barghausen Consulting Engineers, Inc, has promoted nine employees and hired one new employee since the start of November 2022.

Mackenzie Allan has joined Barghausen as an assistant planner in the Kent office. Allan earned her undergraduate and Master's in geography, along with her GIS certification from George Washington University. She previously worked as a senior research associate for the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy, where she focused on urban transportation planning and policy research. She was also a planning associate for Adobu; an ADU company where she focused on permitting and ADU policy research.

Julissa Riberal has been promoted to project engineer. Riberal joined the Roseville, CA team in September of 2020. She delivers accurate, comprehensive, and aesthetically minded plans to clients.

Matt Colling has been promoted to project engineer. Colling started with Barghausen in October of 2017 at the Chehalis office. Colling works on various projects, including residential and commercial developments for key clients across the Puget Sound. He has become the storm drainage go-to for many challenging sites.

Rigo Ortiz has been promoted to people and culture administrator. Ortiz joined Barghausen in March of 2022. Ortiz is the first person that new hires get to spend time with at Barghausen. He also gets to represent the firm at career fairs.

Charm Salvino has been promoted to project engineer. Salvino began working with Barghausen in July of 2018; she initially completed commercial and residential projects. Since then, she has taken on a diverse project base that include complicated grading designs and BMP design on constrained sites. Salvino works a lot with industrial clients, navigating complex standards and structures.

Mitch Anderson has been promoted to senior architectural CAD technician. Anderson started with Barghausen in February of 2022 at the Kent office. Anderson helps solve problems and has exceptional drafting skills.

Brian Dow has been promoted to project engineer. Dow started with Barghausen in January of 2014 at the Long Beach, CA office. He plays more of a leadership role with coordinating design changes and layout updates. His quality control and organization skills along with his growing knowledge of design layouts have helped the department produce more consistent and accurate drawings.

Ric Francais has been promoted to senior project engineer. Francais has been the firm's lead electrical design engineer for the past 11 years, and works out of the Long Beach office. He has grown and adapted to emerging electrical technology in the industry related to various code updates and new vehicle fueling systems. He works on all electrical-related designs related to power, monitoring and lighting and has a deep knowledge of codes, both old and current.

Bryan Newberry has been promoted to survey construction project manager. Newberry joined Barghausenin 2016 and is an integral member of the survey department, taking a lead role with construction calculation needs.

Israel Siria Cornejo has been promoted to project engineer. Siria Cornejo has been a key member of the Long Beach team since 2017. He single-handedly took over the design and coordination for an out-of-country client, which included attending numerous international trips for various construction meetings. He has also played a key part in improving master drawings by introducing time-saving techniques for equipment take-offs and buoyancy calculations. He has also played a significant role in our field surveying by traveling all over the country to perform equipment recons.

Hansen

Herrera welcomed Liliana Hansen, PWS and Betsy Lyons to its Seattle and Bellingham offices.

Hansen is a senior scientist based out of Herrera's Bellingham office. She has 15 years of professional experience with wetland delineations, stream assessments, shoreline assessments, habitat assessments, mitigation design, and mitigation monitoring. Prior to joining Herrera, Hansen was the co-owner of a small, local environmental consulting firm specializing in wetlands, habitat conservation areas, habitat assessments for FEMA compliance with ESA for public and private-sector clients.

Lyons is a senior environmental planner based out of Herrera's Seattle office. She has 20 years of experience developing and directing large complex conservation and utility projects, conservation partnerships, regional planning, and funding initiatives in the Pacific Northwest. Lyons comes to Herrera from Seattle Public Utilities where she worked as a senior capital projects coordinator for the Drainage and Wastewater Line of Business and managed SPU's Creek Culvert Repair and Replacement Program.

Morrison Hershfield welcomed several new staff members to its Seattle office in 2022. Jordan Armstrong and Larry Liu joined as building science consultants, and Austin Bournique joined as a CAD Technician. Armstrong is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a degree in Civil Engineering and has recent experience with a Seattle building envelope consulting firm.

Liu is a recent graduate of the University of Waterloo with an Environmental Engineering degree and has prior experience as an intern with MH.

Bournique is a graduate of the Lake Washington Institute of Technology.

The firm also announced recent promotions. Recent promotions have been awarded to Sadie Mansour, Harry Petersen, Elisa Cheung, and Emile Wang. Mansour was promoted to building science consultant III and has been instrumental in performing u-value energy code calculations.

Petersen was also promoted to building science consultant III and acts as the office safety director and leads efforts on below grade waterproofing.

Cheung was promoted to building science consultant IV and team lead. She leads the firm's office intern program and helps recruit and train new staff.

Wang was promoted to building science consultant V and oversees project management procedures for the firm.

Morrison Hershfield also announced that Nathan Seney and Robin Kotulka became recent company principals and shareholders. Hershfield leads MH's restoration projects.

Kotulka is a team lead for the firm's design group and produces high quality building envelope drawings.

Morrison Hershfield is an employee-owned professional services firm providing engineering and management consulting services in the areas of energy and industrial, buildings, technology and telecom, transportation, environment, water and wastewater, and land development.

Parametrix President John Willis, PE has assumed the company's chief executive officer role effective Jan. 1, 2023. Willis was selected as president in June 2022, with the plan to transition into the chief executive role in January 2023.

Willis succeeds Jeff Peacock, PE, who has served as CEO for nearly 15 years. He will continue to serve Parametrix as chair of the board.

Willis joined Parametrix in 2017 and served as Oregon and Southwest Washington senior vice president prior to being selected as president. He has over 28 years of experience in the architectural and engineering industry in a variety of leadership roles. He has managed some of the region's most significant infrastructure projects including the Interstate Bridge Replacement, TriMet's Portland to Milwaukie Light Rail, and the Dreamlifter Operations Center for Boeing.

PACE Engineers has welcomed 12 new employees.

Brandon Northrop joined PACE's Everett office as a survey field technician I. Northrop is responsible for maintaining and operating vehicle and survey instrumentation, gathering and recording field data in field books, and data collection.

Chin Jewell has joined the Kirkland office as a project engineer. She is a University of Washington graduate with six years of civil engineering experience. Jewell is a member of the Municipal Department. Her daily tasks include designing water, sewer, stormwater, and private development projects.

Tami Skiles has joined PACE as the firm's talent acquisition manager. She has over 15 years of working in the AEC industry, with over 25 years in human resources. Skiles is skilled in creating innovative employee recruitment, retention, and engagement programs across departments, offices, and states.

David Riecken, PLS, joined the Wenatchee office as a survey project manager. Riecken retired from his role at King County in 2018, but his passion for surveying led him to PACE. He adds 41 years of experience to the team. He has experience in multiple project delivery approaches related to construction, civil, transportation, boundary, land development, regional county-wide mapping, and utility projects.

Jared Siegel joined the Everett Office as an environmental scientist. Siegel has over a decade of environmental consulting, government, and academic experience. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Vassar College and a Master of Science in Fisheries from the University of Alaska. Siegel joins PACE with diverse experience in salmon ecology and riverine processes for restoration projects, most recently working with NOAA's Northwest Fisheries Science Center, where he developed statistical models to evaluate the impacts on fish habitat and migration conditions in the Pacific Northwest.

Dylan Chilcote joined the Kirkland office as a survey field technician after relocating from Arkansas. He is beginning his survey career at PACE. Chilcote's daily tasks include measuring and recording data for land, building, and construction projects.

Jeff Wilkes joined the Lake Oswego office as a CAD technician. Wilkes brings over 20 years of experience working in CAD. At PACE, he works closely with engineers to design, develop, and create construction drawings in structural, survey, and civil disciplines.

Mitchell Robertson has joined the Everett office as a junior engineer. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, where he completed his Capstone Project on WSDOT SR96 North Creek Fish Passage Culvert Replacement. Robertson joins the Water Resources group, primarily focused on modeling and designing fish passage and stream restoration projects for state and local public agencies.

Jaclyn Samson joined the Kirkland office as a junior planner. She studied at Western Washington University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning and Sustainable Development with a minor in Environmental Justice. Samson assists the planning group in land use planning and water and wastewater system plans. She is an asset in documentation gathering, research, report writing, and administrative support.

Paul Dujardin joined the Everett office as a CAD technician. He brings experience working on multi-phase projects, improving workflow and communication, managing data, and documenting changes and known issues to reduce timelines.

Eli Zehner, PE, joined the Municipal Team in the Kirkland office as a senior project manager. His focus will be on serving public agencies and utility districts in the Puget Sound region. His primary responsibilities include creating construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water, sanitary, and storm sewer systems, preparing pre-design reports and engineering studies, and providing construction engineering support and management.

Maryann Reid joined the Wenatchee office as an administrative professional. She brings 25 years of engineering administrative support. At PACE, she will be responsible for formatting and editing reports, documents, and specifications, creating and maintaining a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organization, and managing the front desk.
