Sound Transit has begun building the nearly mile-long light-rail segment beneath Beacon Hill. Crews are excavating part of the four-story-tall concourse at the bottom of Beacon Hill station’s 160-foot-deep main shaft. This section will connect the station’s high-speed elevators with the southbound light-rail platform.
