Is ‘eggflation' impacting your grocery bill?

    Products that use only some eggs are not likely to be meaningfully affected by a jump in egg prices; those that use a lot of eggs are probably using egg substitutes.

    In December of 2022, the price of a dozen eggs reportedly hit $4.25. The United States Department of Agriculture reports that as of Jan. 6, 2023, 58 million birds had caught the nation's deadliest avian flu epidemic. Due to the disease, there has been a shortage of eggs, which has led to increased pricing.
