County opening final section of 11-mile Sammamish trail

The final segment of the East Lake Sammamish Trail officially opens Saturday.

The East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST), around 11 miles of walking/non-motorized transport trail that connects Issaquah to Redmond along the eastern shore of Lake Sammamish, is now completed. The trail is a constitutive part of the longer Locks to Lakes Corridor, which with the recent completion of the final 3.6-mile ELST segment, now stretches for 44 uninterrupted miles from Golden Gardens Park in Ballard to Preston in the Cascade foothills.
