DeForest Architects announced that Melissa Nordquist and Rosie Donovan have been promoted to the role of principal, and Meredith Kelly has been named an associate.
Nordquist is a graduate of Harvard's Graduate School of Design and Williams College. In her time at DeForest, she has managed large teams on complex projects and focused on marketing and business development. As principal, she will strengthen her focus on business development and connecting with clients to further tailor the firm's services to their needs.
Donovan earned her undergraduate and master of architecture degrees from the University of Washington. She has led some of the firm's most successful projects and been instrumental in building firm culture and systems. As principal, her focus on people and firm culture will be vital to creating amazing places and experiences for clients.
Kelly received her master of architecture degree from the University of Washington, relocating to Seattle from her native Chicago. In addition to leading projects, she has played a key role in the firm's social media presence as well as hiring and internal best practices. As associate, Kelly's responsibilities will also include developing office resources and professional development.

CAST architecture recently hired Anna Post as a design associate. Post was born and raised in the Methow Valley. She received her B.S. of Architecture and M.Arch from Washington State University. At graduation, Post won the 2023 AIA Medal for Academic Excellence.
Helix Design Group, Inc. has welcomed two new members: Nathalie Doyle and Bob Goldstein.
Doyle received her Bachelors of Environmental Design, with an Architecture Major, from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She joined Helix Design Group as a job captain in the Architecture Group, bringing with her eight years of experience; with focus in multi-family, retail and feasibility/design studies.
Goldstein also joined Helix Design Group as a job captain in the Architecture Group. He has 42 years of experience, with 32 of those years in the K-12 market sector. He pursued and received an Associate in Architectural Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA.
KMB architects is excited to announce the addition of six new team members in the first half of 2023: Angela Borrowman, Bob Lindstrom, Matthew Hamilton, Christina Scott, Jessica Birbari and Christopher Buchanan.
Senior interior designer, Borrowman, brings 20 years of career experience to her role as interiors studio leader at KMB. Her diverse project work includes Education, Multifamily, Healthcare, Corporate, Civic, Commercial, Retail, TI, FFE, Environmental Graphics and Materials & Finishes. Borrowman's certifications include NCIDQ, LEED AG, AWI associate member, and a BA in Interior Design.
Senior project manager, Lindstrom has focused deeply on developing and maintaining strong client connections through K-12 Education projects during his 33-year career in architecture. He holds a BA in Architecture from Kansas State University as well as AIA, NCARB and Associate DBIA credentials.
Buchanan joined KMB as an architectural designer III with a 14-year career focused on Healthcare, State and Tribal market sectors. He has a BA in Architecture and Minor in Urban Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as well as LEAN Administration accreditation.
Scott, controller and HR manager for KMB, brings 12-years of accounting experience, 10 years of which were in the general contracting industry. Scott earned her BA in Business Accounting and a Masters Degree in Accounting and Finance from Western Governors University and is a licensed Notary Public.
Hamilton recently joined the KMB team as a staff architect Level II with a 10-plus year career focused on Urban Design, Education and Housing projects. Hamilton holds a BA Architecture from Woodbury University, San Diego and a MA Architecture and Urban Design from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, and is an AIA Associate.
Birbari joins KMB architects full time as an architect Level I after interning with the firm remotely during her senior year while she pursued and earned her BA in Architecture at Washington State University.
Amy V. Kaufman, PMP, AICP has joined Parametrix as a senior consultant with over 25 years of public and private sector experience in transportation and strategic planning, capital program management, infrastructure asset management, and project management.
Kaufman comes to Parametrix from Gannett Fleming where she served as senior consultant. Her consulting project experience includes work for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, TriMet, Golden Gate Bridge Highway Transportation District, Orange County Transportation Authority, San Mateo Transit District, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Prior to her consulting career, Kaufman worked for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority and New York City Transit.
At Parametrix, Kaufman joins the firm's Strategic Advisory Services team, providing, infrastructure asset management, owner advisory, and strategic consulting services to public agencies across the Western United States.
